Ashbury Images is a “nonprofit social enterprise that provides promotional goods, screen printing and embroidery services while empowering disconnected youth with opportunity. Our team of professional screen printers work with youth development specialists from our parent organization, New Door Ventures, to provide youth interns with on-the-job training, life-skills training, tutoring and supportive case management. Young people graduate from our program ready for work and life by choosing a path toward economic opportunity and personal fulfillment.
Ashbury Images started in the late 1980s with one manual screen press mounted on an apple crate in the basement of a homeless shelter for men. Since then, it has grown significantly and our target population has shifted to focus on disconnected youth. Today, we employ 30 youth per year and have sales of $2.5 million annually. We operate in an 11,000 square foot facility with multiple presses and print thousands of products per week for customers like Habitat for Humanity International, MuleSoft, Sports Basement and Anchor Steam Brewery.”
