“MTI Integrated Business Development was borne out of MTI Residential Services, which was formerly a New York City nonprofit that provided mental health case management services and small social enterprise development for individuals with barriers to employment. MTI Residential Services became a consultant to the Veterans Affairs New Jersey Health Care System’s (VANJ) Department of Homeless Services in 2008 and began operating three social enterprises that employed homeless Veterans. MTI Residential Services then became MTI Integrated Business Development in 2010 when our CEO, Wendell Knight, chose to specialize in Veteran employment due to a gap in community-based training and employment services.
Our mission is to create employment opportunities for Veterans with barriers. Presently all of the revenue generated beyond the operational expenses from the Veterans Greenhouse, Foxhole BBQ and Catering, and MAVERIC Driving Range are directly reinvested back into those enterprises.”
