Description: As the repercussions of the pandemic continue to impact every sector of the economy, employers in the non profit sector are beginning to discover a program known as work-sharing. This program, available in half the states, enables employers who are facing a temporary economic downturn to avoid layoffs by instead reducing worker schedules and paying prorated unemployment insurance in the form of work-sharing benefits. As part of the CARES Act, Congress has made this program more accessible for public and non-profit employers by federally subsidizing work-sharing benefits.
This webinar will explains the mechanics of work-sharing, the benefits for employers and workers, and how employers with Employment Social Enterprises can best use the program to retain valued staff while maintaining financial stability through the recession.
