Employment Social Enterprises using a transitional model have a unique aspect of their model in placing individuals overcoming barriers to employment in jobs outside of their organization after they complete the program. Because of this, there is a need to develop a strong community of employers who can hire individuals coming out of the ESE programs. This workshop series explores and addresses the complexities of employer relations.

Session 1 – September 10, 2024

Session 2 – September 24, 2024
  • Session Title: Cultivating Employer Partnerships
  • Workshop Description: Developing deep employer relationships has a two-fold effect – they create more opportunities for job seekers and shift employer practices to be more inclusive – creating more economic opportunity and mobility for all who Employment Social Enterprises (ESEs) serve.  ESEs are uniquely positioned to help untapped talent move into meaningful careers – yet often, it takes developing deep relationships with employers and helping them reduce employment barriers in their firms. In this session, we’ll unpack strategies ESEs can take to develop deep employer relationships that can have a transformational impact on their participants and employers.  Following the session, ESE’s will walk away with a understanding of the importance of developing employer relationships rooted in partnership vs. transaction, as well as concrete steps they can take to:
    • Identify the right types of employers to engage
    • Develop a compelling value proposition
    • Engage employers when they don’t have right-fit job opportunities
    • Deepen relationships and the ability to impact employer practices over time
