Skill Up Los Angeles connects CalFresh Employment & Training funding with Los Angeles County workforce development agencies so that more Angelenos can get the jobs, training, and support they need to enter and succeed in the workforce.

At Skill Up Los Angeles provider sites, Angelenos receiving CalFresh benefits have access to on-the-job training, work experience, basic and vocational education, job placement and retention services. Robust supportive services like transportation, digital technology, dependent care and interview clothing are also provided.

Skill Up Los Angeles is the first CalFresh Employment & Training third-party partnership program to be offered in Los Angeles. It increases local access to workforce and training services by leveraging federal and third-party provider dollars at no additional County cost. Skill Up Los Angeles currently has six providers offering services, who you can connect with below.

Fresh Success is another Employment & Training Program like Skill Up Los Angeles. The Fresh Success network of providers includes many community colleges and operates throughout the state of California.

Fresh Success helps community colleges and community-based organizations and adult education centers start and manage CalFresh Employment and Training programs. Through Fresh Success, CalFresh participants gain education and training that will lead to better employment and a path to economic self-sufficiency. By connecting counties with colleges and nonprofits that offer employment and training services, federal funding is increased and innovative, job-oriented approaches are possible.

You can find a list of Fresh Success Providers here, and more program information here.

Important Note: Skill Up Los Angeles was formerly named CFET Expansion Pilot Program (CEPP), which is why you will find documents and materials referencing CEPP on this platform. All CEPP documents apply to Skill Up Los Angeles.
